     New Rochelle – The New Rochelle Bar Association held its annual Surrogate’s Dinner Jan.12 at Juliano’s Caterers. Members welcomed Westchester Surrogate Brandon R. Sall, who Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo appointed as interim surrogate before he was elected to the position in Nov. 2015.

ALBANY, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the guilty pleas of Dennis Broccolo, 55 of New Rochelle and Stephanie Vega, 27 of New Rochelle, on felony charges stemming from the theft of over $69,000 in unemployment benefits. The defendants were each accused of twice submitting false applications for unemployment insurance benefits by claiming to have worked for two different companies at which they were never employed.

Westchester District Attorney Janet Difiore Confirmed By The New York State Senate as Chief Judge of The Court Of Appeals

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore has been confirmed by a vote of the New York State Senate and is now the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals and the State of New York.

Upon her confirmation, she resigned her position as Westchester County District Attorney.

First Deputy District Attorney James McCarty is now the acting District Attorney of Westchester County.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Richard H. Sutton, a longtime resident of New Rochelle died on January 17, 2016. He was 83.

Richard was born on July 19, 1932 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Anthony T. and Catherine (Scaffidi) Sutton. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a Corporate Vice President at the Bank of New York until his retirement.
