NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Helen F. Fodero, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on January 8, 2016. She was 81.

Helen was born on October 6, 1934 in New Rochelle to the late Vincent and Anna (McNamara) Gotti.

Helen worked as a Medical Assistant for over 25 years for Dr. Tobi Klar in New Rochelle. Prior to that she was a Baby Nurse at the NY Foundling Hospital.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- After four months of repairs and relocation costing millions of dollars, the ceiling at Webster Elementary School continues to leak water into classrooms, knowledgable sources tell Talk of the Sound.

After heavy rain over the past weekend, water-damaged ceiling tiles in classrooms 201 and 208 were quickly and quietly replaced before school started on Monday in an apparent attempt to cover up the failure.

Pinehurst Police: James Gaddy Murdered Wife, Killed Himself in Pre-Planned Murder Suicide

PINEHURST, NC -- Police in North Carolina have determined that James Gaddy, a prominent educator in New Rochelle for decades, killed his wife with 4 bullets to the back of her head, waited 2 or 3 days, then turned the gun on himself. He died of a single round to the chest. Talk of the Sound spoke with the Village of Pinehurst Police Department and obtained a prepared statement.


New Rochelle Police Investigate After 7-Year Old Child Suffers Cardiac Arrest, Dies

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police detectives are investigating after paramedics were called to an apartment for a 7-year old child suffering cardiac arrest shortly after midnight Wednesday.

The child was taken from 345 Main Street to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

Police closed off the building and requested a camera to the scene, based on police radio traffic.

James Gaddy and Wife Die Unexpectedly, First African-American High School Principal in New Rochelle Schools, Former Superintendent

PINEHURST, NC -- James and Josie Gaddy died last weekend. The couple was found alone in their home at the Pinewild Country Club, a gated community in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Polilce said there was no sign of a struggle or an intruder. The cause of death is pending upon completion of autopsies tby the state medical examiner’s office, according to local media reports.

Scammers Con Woman: A New Rochelle woman was allegedly swindled out of $20,000. According to the police report, the complainant received a letter in the mail Dec. 2 stating that she had won a sweepstakes for $3,950. The letter asked her to call the company’s representative, David Harris, at the number provided in the letter, she told police. The woman told police that for the next several days, she sent several money grams totaling $20,000 for processing fees to 11 Appa Road, Capetown, South Africa.

New Rochelle Man Charged with Stealing $39,000 from Local Homeowner’s Assocation

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Salvatore Franciamore, 35, of New Rochelle, NY was charged last Monday with Grand Larceny - Third Degree by the Westchester County District Attorney following an investigation by New Rochelle Police into a complaint of funds missing from a homeowner’ association checking account.

Franciamore was the President of the WestEnd2000 Home Owners Association, an association organized for the purposes of paying insurance, development and maintenance costs for the Town Houses at West Way.

Members of the homeowner's assocation are upset.
