NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Purchase College-SUNY is pleased to announce the creation of The Peter Keller Fund, a new endowment in the School of the Humanities, dedicated by Mr. Keller’s daughter, Lisa Keller, Professor of History at Purchase, and her husband, Saky Yakas, managing partner at SLCE Architects. The fund will be a fitting tribute to Mr. Keller, a longtime resident of New Rochelle who was a distinguished journalist at the Wall Street Journal for more than 56 years and a voracious reader of history and literature.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Norma Caporale (Fanese) a lifelong resident of New Rochelle died on January 4, 2016. She was 83.

Norma was born on August 23, 1932 in New Rochelle to the late Guido "Bill" and Rose (Latino) Fanese.

Norma worked for over 30 years at New Rochelle High School.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City School District of New Rochelle is continuing its stonewalling on production of documents related to the building collapse at Webster Elementary School and more broadly the entire record of facilities in the New Rochelle school system.

On December 9, 2015, Talk of the Sound submitted a Freedom of Information request for a copy of a Building Condition Survey Report prepared by CSArch.
