NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- On Thursday January 28th at 7:30 p.m., The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will present a screening of the film Wildlike with a post-film discussion and Q&A with the director Frank Hall Green.

Green’s award-winning directorial debut feature Wildlike (2015) had its world premiere at the Hamptons Film Festival and has been invited to over 75 film festivals and won 16 Best Film awards. It was produced by Christine Vachon/Killer Films, Tandem Pictures (Sleepwalker), and Joseph Stephans.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- SUEZ (formerly United Water Westchester) received the 2015 Advancement Award from the Westchester Water Works Conference. The award was presented to the company for the success of its District Metered Area program, which utilizes advanced technology to identify and reduce leaks in water mains.

SUEZ received the Westchester Water Works Conference Advancement Award for an innovative meter program that helps identify leaks and prevents water loss. SUEZ Westchester operations team: Steve Bernadino, planning supervisor; Bob Idoni, operations superintendent; Lynda DiMenna, manager; Nick Curcio, project manager.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Iona Preparatory School has turned to one of its own to fill its varsity football head coaching vacancy. Joe Spagnolo, a 1998 Iona Prep Upper School graduate and former varsity quarterback, has been named head coach. Spagnolo, a longtime assistant coach at Archbishop Stepinac, succeeds Vic Quirolo, who chose to step down last month after 13 years as head football coach, but remains the Gaels’ head basketball coach.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Both the Iona College men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs fell to the Fordham Rams late Friday afternoon.  Freshman Jude Zamora was the lone winner for Iona, touching the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.47.

Zamora also raced in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle, placing fifth and sixth in each of those events respectively.

NEW YORK, NY -- More than 1,000 power outages were averted during the Blizzard of 2016 because of $1 billion in upgrades to Con Edison’s infrastructure over the past three years.

Approximately 4,500 storm-related power outages occurred between Friday night and Monday morning throughout Con Edison’s service area. All those customers were restored by Monday afternoon.

Annual Retail Business Registration Program Deadline Januar

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In an effort to provide support to local retail businesses, the City of New Rochelle established a Retail Business Registration Program in 2015, requiring all businesses to register with the City and renew their registration annually. The information collected will assist in the creation of a comprehensive business directory, and be used to share emergency alerts as well as notification of business-related events and opportunities.

Businesses are reminded that this year’s renewal deadline is January 31, 2016.
