NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Helen F. Fodero, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on January 8, 2016. She was 81.

Helen was born on October 6, 1934 in New Rochelle to the late Vincent and Anna (McNamara) Gotti.

Helen worked as a Medical Assistant for over 25 years for Dr. Tobi Klar in New Rochelle. Prior to that she was a Baby Nurse at the NY Foundling Hospital.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Lillian Bedell of New Rochelle New York passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2016 in the Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. She was 85 years old. Lillian was born in the Bronx New York on June 6, 1930 and was the daughter of Meyer and Anna Lehrer. She is survived by her two sons Gary and martin and her loving grandchildren. Lillian was also the devoted wife of the Late Bernard Bedell. A 11:30 a.m. graveside is scheduled for Friday January 8, 2016 in the Wellwood Cemetery, Pinelawn New York.

Bahamian Scholarship Students Celebrate First Successful Semester at Monroe

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Earlier this year, Monroe College partnered with the Bahamian Ministry of Education to develop a $1.1 million scholarship program to expand college access to local public high school graduates. The first 13 deserving scholarship recipients from the island nation began their studies at Monroe in September. With that first semester now coming to a close, they recently joined fellow Bahamian students attending Monroe for a celebratory dinner hosted by Marc Jerome, Executive Vice President at the college.

NCB Arranges $8.6 Million in Financing for Two Westchester Co-ops

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading lender to cooperative housing throughout the Tri-State area, has arranged $8.6 million in financing for two Westchester co-ops. During the month, the bank arranged $42.2 million in the greater New York region.

 Edward Howe III, managing director arranged a $4 million first mortgage and $500,000 line of credit for 333 Bronx River Tenants Corp., a 163-unit co-op at 333 Bronx River Road in Yonkers.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) will present The Jewish Course of Why, the institute’s new six-session winter 2016 course that will begin during the week of February 22, 2016.

Rabbi Mendel Silberstein of Chabad of Larchmont & Mamaroneck will conduct the six course sessions at 7:30PM on Mondays, beginning February 22nd through March 27th, at the Chabad Center.

NEW YORK, NY -- Ajkun Ballet Theatre, a New York City based professional ballet company, invites children of Westchester County, grades Pre-K – 8, to participate in our 2016 production of Carmen. Children partake in rehearsals of dance or theater (child’s choice, divided by age) at a local venue taught by AjkunBT’s Professional Artists on Saturdays throughout March and April. In April participants perform alongside artists of Ajkun Ballet Theatre in this original choreography adapted by Co-Artistic Director Chiara Ajkun after Bizet’s opera.
