WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Two years ago, the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) underwent a radical change. Chairman Michael Kaplowitz, a Democrat, and Vice-Chairman James Maisano, a Republican, came together to form a bipartisan coalition government to lead the BOL.  For the past two years, the BOL has abandoned gridlock and lawsuits in favor of conciliation and negotiation.

Gaels Swimming extend win streak to 7 by defeating Monsignor Farrell

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Gaels defeated Monsignor Farrell at Sarah Lawerence College on Thursday, January 7th to clinch an undefeated season in the NY High School Catholic League Division and improve to an 8-2 overall record.

They were lead by strong double win performances from seniors Owen Madden, Shane Syron, and sophomore Mauro Pacsi. Senior Kyle Deverna and sophomore Mike Eboli also won events for Iona.

The team returns to the pool for Senior Night at 6:30pm on Wednesday, January 13th at Iona College vs. Rye High School in their last dual meet of the season.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- It was a historic weekend for the hockey team as all three levels of the program recorded victories--two apiece for the junior varsity and varsity--in posting a perfect 5-0 record for the weekend. The junior varsity is currently in first place.

The modified team got things going with a 7-1 win over Scarsdale with Iona Prep President Brother Thomas Leto on hand. From there it was on to Coney Island where the Gaels went back-to-back against St. Joseph By-the-Sea, winning 4-0 and 5-3 for the varsity and junior varsity, respectively.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Varsity Track and Field Team had some outstanding performances over the weekend at the 22nd Annual Hispanic Games which is the largest track meet in the Nation.

Senior Andrew Cannistraci won in the Shot Put to remain undefeated this season and senior Chris Dutra was 3rd in the Weight Throw and 8th in the Shot Put. Senior Kieran Mulvany was 5th in the Mile Steeplechase during the weekends events.  The Team placed 4th out over 200 competing schools.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The games were so coveted that you had to buy tickets in advance, and the Gaels didn't disappoint, taking all three basketball games--freshman, junior varsity and varsity--from the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders in White Plains on Jan. 8

The freshman team won by 14 with a 55-41 victory that got the ball rolling. The JV continued its torrid streak, more than doubling the freshman win margin with a 36-point victory, 69-33.  The Junior Varsity Basketball team is now 10-0 on the year.
