Police Respond to Montefiore ER: New Rochelle Police responded to Montefiore Hospital emergency room Feb. 7 after receiving a report of a male who was injured during an assault at approximately 2:20 a.m. at the Spectators Bar in New Rochelle. The victim told police he was hit by an unknown male on the left side of his face. He told police he had been kissing a woman but fell backward when he was allegedly assaulted and hit his head against the wall, which resulted in a two-inch cut to his head. He told police he did not know who hit him.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Angeline Brooks, 83, of New Rochelle, NY passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016. Angeline was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Bucci, and the beloved wife for 51 years of the late Bernard Brooks. She is survived by her four daughters, Susan Brooks O'Rourke, Lori and husband Sean O'Rourke, Ellen and husband Thomas Kelly, and Donna and husband Donald Ruzzi. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Angeline is survived by her sister Josephine O'Shea of Pomona, NY and is predeceased by her sister Marie DiGirolamo.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Marianne Jasiak, a resident of New Rochelle for over 40 years, passed away on February 19th at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital at the age of 78. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Gunter as well as her sister Marlene, brother-in-law Georg Goebel of Bendorf, Germany and their children and families. Marianne was a co-owner of Heidi's Deli in New Rochelle for many years. In addition to spending time with friends and family, she was an avid crafter and accomplished crocheter. She loved tending to her flowers and garden as well.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Annette " Doona" M. Reppucci, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away on February 19, 2016 at the age of 91. Annette was born on October 14, 1924 in New Rochelle to the late Vincent and Mariana Serio. She was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio(Butch)Reppucci. 

She is survived by her loving sons James(Anne Marie), Thomas(Frances), 5 grandchildren Jillian, Lauren, Michael, William and Thomas along with 7 greatgrandchildren.

Except this year, the team has company with the fourth and fifth-grade teams also reaching postseason play. Governor Cuomo Launches Statewide Water Quality Initiatives

NEW YORK, NY -- Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced a series of aggressive water quality initiatives to protect both the public health and the environment. The Governor is creating a Statewide Water Quality Rapid Response Team charged with identifying and developing plans to swiftly address critical drinking water contamination concerns, as well as related groundwater and surface water contamination problems. The Governor is also proposing statewide regulations in the coming days to regulate mulch processing facilities to strengthen oversight and safeguard natural resources.
