WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Statement by Ned McCormack, Westchester County Director of Communications/Senior Advisor to County Executive Robert P. Astorino, on the Monitor’s report.

This is more harassment by an overreaching HUD-controlled federal monitor who is apparently upset that Westchester is meeting its benchmarks to build affordable housing while preserving the constitutional rights of local governments to oversee local zoning.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced this year’s Point-In-Time (PIT) survey showed that Westchester’s homeless population is down significantly since 2014 with one category – chronically homeless households -- down 36%.       “These results validate our efforts across the board to get the homeless into permanent housing,” said Astorino. “Shelters are necessary, but they are only a temporary solution.

PELHAM, NY -- Pelham Art Center is proud to continue its annual exhibition highlighting exceptional student art with the High School Art Salon, on view for two weeks, April 7-22, 2016 with an opening reception on Thursday, April 7, 6:30-8:00pm.  The exhibition will feature artwork by students in advanced art classes from seven local high schools: Bronxville, Dobbs Ferry, Fordham Preparatory, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Pelham Memorial, and Scarsdale.

Florence Henry Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Florence Henry, a life long New Rochelle resident, passed away peacefully on March 15TH, 2016 at the age of 88 from heart failure. Florence was the wife of the late Oliver Henry. She was the daughter of the late Eric & Irene Armstrong. She was educated in the Mamaroneck School System and was a lifetime member of St.Simon's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She leaves to mourn a son, Wayne Henry, 2 daughters, Pamela Borden and Wendy Henry-Dodds and a grandson Oliver Dodds, and a sister Eula Hairston of Virginia.
