NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Following a disappointing day of competitive losses, the Iona College softball team looked to pick up their first win of the 2016 season on day two of the UNCG tournament.  The Maroon & Gold offense would unfortunately sputter, leading to a pair of losses.

Youngstown State jumped out early against senior Jordan Courage, scoring four runs in the first, and two in the second.  Courage’s outing ended in 4.1 innings, with six total earned runs allowed, and three strike outs.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's basketball team completed an unbeaten three-game road stretch in an 86-73 win over Manhattan in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Draddy Gym. The Gaels erased an early 15-point deficit and led by as many as 18 in the second half to earn its fourth straight win overall and sixth straight win on the road. With the victory, and by virtue of Monmouth's win, the Maroon & Gold will be the No. 2 seed in next weekend's MAAC Championship in Albany. Iona, however, can still claim a share of the regular season title with a win on Sunday vs.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College softball program dropped their first two contests of the 2016 season; suffering a tough 8-2 extra inning loss to Lehigh, and a 6-3 defeat to the host UNCG.

The Mountain Hawks were the first opponent of the season for the Maroon & Gold.  Senior Carly Argyle led Iona with eight innings of one-run dominance as the two teams locked in a close 1-1 contest into extra innings.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's basketball team erased a double-digit first half deficit for the second straight game and used a strong second half to top Canisius 86-78 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action on Senior Day at the Hynes Center. The Gaels closed out the 2015-16 regular season with a 16-4 mark in MAAC play and earned the No. 2 seed in next weekend's conference tournament in Albany. Prior to the game, Iona honored its five seniors including A.J. English, Ibn Muhammad, Aaron Rountree, Isaiah Williams and manager John Kiggins.

Clements Runs at Fastrack Last Chance

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- One member of the Iona College men’s indoor track & field team competed at the Fastrack Last Chance meet at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. 

Junior Kieran Clements took home fourth in the mile run with a season-best time of 4:00.73.

The rest of the Maroon & Gold rested up this weekend as the team will head up to Boston to compete in the IC4A Championships this coming weekend, Saturday March 5 and Sunday,March 6.
