WHITE PLAINS, NY --County Executive Robert P. Astorino will deliver his 2016 State of the County Address on Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. in the Central Jury Room of the County Courthouse, 111 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., White Plains.

The speech is open to the public.       

Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Those wishing to attend should allow adequate time to get through the building’s security. All guests need to be seated by 6:30 p.m. The speech will be aired live on News 12 and FiOS1 News.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle will observe Arbor Day with a tree planting in Ruby Dee Park at Library Green on Friday, April 29 from 2-3 PM. The event, organized in conjunction with the New Rochelle Public Library, will also feature a children’s workshop. In attendance will be Deputy Mayor Jared Rice, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann, and City officials.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- It was a rockin’ good time as more than 600 business people turned out for the Business Council of Westchester’s Business Hall of Fame Awards Dinner where six businesses were inducted into the prestigious group.

This year’s program, which was held April 19 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, featured a “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” theme complete with Elvis and Elton John look-a-likes who greeted guests as they arrived.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced that the 48th annual Salute to Seniors is set for Wednesday, May 4, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. The free event will feature a business expo with over 90 vendors, as well as live entertainment, dancing, a health and wellness fair, and more. WHITE PLAINS, NY -- In his seventh State of the County Address Thursday night, Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino pledged to continue policies of fiscal discipline, economic growth and leveraging the role of government as a key facilitator in strengthening communities.  The county budget today, and the county property tax levy, are both less than they were when Astorino took office in 2010 and he pledged once again to keep spending flat and not to raise taxes for the seventh year in a row.

The prestigious award was presented to New Rochelle’s Parks and Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann and City Manager Charles B. Strome, III at the76th Annual New York State Recreation and Park Society Conference on Sunday, April 17th.

The fourth annual event will take place at Hugh A. Doyle Senior Center on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- 15 people were taken to area hospitals after a Carbon Monoxide leak at a private residence in New Rochelle, NY.

"12 people were taken to Jacoci Medical Center and 3 were taken to Westchester Medical Center," said New Rochelle Police Sergeant Matthew Brady.

The incident occurred at about 3:45 a.m.
