NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Andrew Cannistraci turned a negative into a gigantic positive when he was cut from the freshman basketball team at Iona Preparatory School. He discovered track and field, and thereafter, a list of collegiate programs a mile long discovered him.

Andrew Cannistraci is wrapping up a sterling career as a thrower on the Iona Prep track & field team. He’ll head to Northeastern on an athletic scholarship in the fall.

Triple-Lane Closures on Tappan Zee Bridge this Weekend

NEW YORK, NY -- Pier foundation work near the Rockland shoreline will require triple-lane closures on the northbound Tappan Zee Bridge (I-87/I-287) from 9 p.m., Friday night, April 29 until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30 and again from 9 p.m., Saturday, April 30 until 2 p.m., Sunday, May 1. One northbound lane will remain open to traffic during the operation. All three lanes in the southbound direction will remain open on the Tappan Zee Bridge during the entire weekend.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Leading women in education, industry and government emphasized the importance of empowerment and advancement for women at a regional roundtable discussion Thursday, April 28, at The College of New Rochelle. CNR President Judith Huntington and Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul co-chaired the event, which was part of a state-wide initiative by the Cuomo Administration aimed at addressing barriers preventing women from achieving leadership roles and inspiring the next generation of young women to aim higher.
