County Exec Astorino Cuts Ribbon at New Rochelle Water Resource Recovery Facility

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino cut the ribbon to officially open the $250 million New Rochelle Water Resource Recovery Facility, the largest public works project in Westchester History.

Also making remarks were Thomas Lauro, Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Facilities, Dr. Rengachari Nivas, President, Savin Engineers and Mike Ryan, President, Yonkers Contracting Company.

Representing New Rochelle was Mayor Noam Bramson, and County Legislators Jim Maisano and Sheila Marcotte.

PELHAM, NY -- Pelham Art Center is pleased to present its highly popular Faculty and Student Showcase on view July 15 – August 19, 2016. A free opening reception and all-age hands-on workshop will be held on Friday, July 15 from 6:30-8PM.  This annual exhibition features new work in a variety of mediums by the Art Center’s distinguished teachers and enthusiastic students. Exhibited work ranges from charcoal to oils, photographs to collage, and mixed media to ceramics.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle Section 8 Housing Program will open its waiting list for applications from July 5 through July 7, 2016 until 11:59pm.  The federally subsidized program provides rental assistance to families who are either very low income, elderly (62+), disabled or veterans. Preference is given to New Rochelle residents and veterans in the aforementioned categories.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The upcoming 4th annual New Rochelle Street Fair, which offers live music, food and art from more than 100 vendors, will introduce a Beer and Wine Garden this year. The new addition, curated by NR Future, will take place on Division Street just south of Main. The downtown street will be sectioned off and transformed into a park-like setting featuring local craft brewers and wineries.
