To suoort the needs of our youth.

All New Rochelle residents, civic associations, clubs, churches and advocacy groups are encourgaged to come to enjoy the day filled with lot of activities and fun for our youth.

Saturday January 18 2016 

11 AM - 6 PM

Free food, Music, Live Entertainment, Basketball Game and information on social awareness issues such as Voter Registration, Youth Employment Health and Wellness and Youth Education.

NEW YORK, NY -- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos and State Department of Health (DOH) Commissioner Howard Zucker, M.D., J.D. today issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the Lower Hudson Valley region of New York State for Monday, June 20, 2016.

             The pollutant of concern is: Ozone

             The advisory will be in effect: 11 a.m. through 11 p.m.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle residents should prepare themselves for a summer of major traffic headaches starting later this month as Suez Water begins a project to replace the water main on Eastchester Road, a project ordered by the New York State Public Service Commission. The road will be restricted to one lane, in sections, six days a week, throughout the summer and possibly longer.

GREENBURGH, NY -- New York State Police from Hawthorne arrested Jizannie H. Foster, 23 years old, of New Rochelle, New York, on the morning of June 16, 2016. Foster was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving, an unclassified Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Elevated Levels of Lead Found in Three More New Rochelle Schools: Barnard, Ward, Jefferson

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Three more schools in New Rochelle have tested positive for elevated levels of lead: Barnard Childhood Center, William B. Ward Elementary School and Jefferson Elementary School. A fourth school, George M. Davis Elementary School, tested positive in April.

At Barnard Childhood Center, 6 drinking fountains have been shut off: Room 3 and Room 6 in the Basement; Room 107 and Room 108 on the First Floor; Room 211 and Room 212 on the Second Floor.

ALBANY, NY -- The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today announced it is seeking comment on a rate proposal that was filed by Suez Water New York Inc. (SWNY or Suez) on February 26, 2016. In the filing, SWNY proposes, among other things, to increase its annual revenues by roughly $11.6 million, an increase of 13.7 percent to total revenues, for the rate year ending January 31, 2018.

A trailblazer in producing and using sustainable energy since 1993, Montefiore is being honored for ecofriendly initiatives that have resulted in a “greener” Westchester and for its commitment to a 30 percent carbon reduction by 2025.
