Police Chase Ends with Crash into Stone Wall in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A wild, high-speed police chase, originating in Larchmont, ended suddenly at Cherry Lawn Farm Market when a Larchmont Police officer lost control of his vehicle and smashed through a stone wall at the intersection of Weaver Street and Quaker Ridge Road.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Westchester Medical Center.

The officer was in pursuit of the driver of a white BMW reported stolen in New York City. The driver continued driving in New Rochelle and escaped.

New Rochelle High Student Hospitalized Following Altercation Involving a Knife

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A dispute involving two New Rochelle High School students, ages fourteen and fifteen, turned violent and resulted in one student hospitalized with a laceration to his wrist, according to police.

At 8:13 A.M. Thursday morning, the New Rochelle P.D., E.M.S. and Fire personnel responded to New Rochelle High School on a report of a student with an injured wrist.  A police investigation determined that one student was inadvertently cut on his wrist during the altercation. An exacto knife was recovered.
