NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- On July 20, ENL Teachers Trisha Francomano and Tina Guzzetti and TA Ana Palacios led a Literacy Workshop for parents of English Language Learners attending the George M. Davis Summer Academy. The parents learned strategies they can use at home to develop academic reading skills. Each family received a bilingual Read At Home Kit. Funding for the program was provided by the Office of ELL and Dual Language Programs.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino welcomed the iconic Lockheed T-33 jet, known as the   “T-Bird,” back to the Westchester County Airport after being restored for almost a year. Astorino was joined by Lt Col Joseph Wooley of the Civil Air Patrol and Group Commander from the Southeast Group of the New York Wing stationed at the airport and Peter Scherrer, manager of the Westchester County Airport.

Tyrone Mushatt (DOB 11/07/72) of 3563 Boller Avenue Bronx, New York, was arraigned

today on an indictment charging him with:

•seventeen counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, class ”D” Felonies,

•one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- More than 8,500 people enjoyed the 41st annual Day at Playland for People with Disabilities today, which offered free rides and entertainment for people with disabilities as well as their families and caregivers. County Executive Robert P. Astorino kicked off the day’s Opening Ceremonies along with Tom Kallish, founder of the Tommie Cares Foundation, which sponsored the cost of the event.
