NEW YORK, NY -- At Governor Cuomo's direction, the New York State Thruway Authority has initiated detours of all traffic traveling on I-87/I-287 following a crane accident on the Tappan Zee Bridge. Motorists traveling southbound have the option of being diverted off exit 15 (New Jersey - I-287 - NJ Route 17 South) or exit 12 (West Nyack - NY Route 303 - Palisades Center Drive). All northbound traffic is being diverted off exit 8 (White Plains - Rye - Cross Westchester Expressway).

NEW YORK, NY -- The New York State Board of Regents today adopted rules that provide school districts with more flexibility in meeting teacher and principal evaluation requirements by the September 1, 2016 statutory deadline for State Aid increases.  School districts that demonstrate it is a hardship to meet the independent evaluator requirement for teachers and principals can apply for a waiver from the State Education Department.
