Station Plaza North One-Way Begins in August

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Due to the planned replacement of the North Avenue Bridge and to improve traffic circulation in the downtown, Station Plaza North will be changed to one way eastbound starting August 22. With access to the Metro North Train Station and Transit Center Garage through Memorial Highway, motorists coming from the north and south are urged to begin using alternate routes now in advance of the switch: 

From the north: From North Avenue, take Lincoln, Lockwood, or Burling Lane to Memorial Highway and enter Station Plaza North

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Building on a record breaking 2014, Westchester County’s tourism industry went even higher in 2015 with visitor spending increasing by $60 million to $1.8 billion. Since 2009, the end of the Great Recession, visitor spending has soared 29%, an increase of more than $400 million.

“These numbers show that Westchester County continues to be a leading destination for business and pleasure in the State of New York,” said Astorino. “Year after year, Westchester attracts more visitors, and that’s great news for the growth of our economy and county as a whole.”

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The FARE Walk for Food Allergy, one of Food Allergy Research & Education’s flagship fundraising, awareness and community-building programs, will be in New Rochelle with the goal of raising critically needed funds that will make a difference in the lives of 15 million Americans living with food allergies. 

The FARE Walk for Food Allergy in Westchester will be held on Saturday, October 15th at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle from 1pm to 4pm.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New York Council of Administrators of Special Education (NYCASE) has established the "Special Education Administrator of the Year" Award to recognize an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and accomplishment for the benefit of students with disabilities. The award was announced at the 2016 NYCASE Summer Institute at the Gideon Putnam Resort in Saratoga Springs New York.
