Nicola Aiello Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Nicola Aiello, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on June 8, 2016. He was 90. 

Nicola was born on December 3, 1925 in Palermiti, Italy to the late Pasquale and Marianna (Loiacono) Aiello. 

He was predeceased by his wife the former Rosa Sestito whom he married on May 10, 1947. She died on July 1, 2014. He is survived by his four children Anna Bulfamante (Dominick), Maria Griffo (Vincenzo), Pasquale Aiello (Janette) and Lidia Salandra (Emilio); his 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Francesco Aiello.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Valentina Pryce (nee Acocella), age 59, died peacefully at her home in New Rochelle, on Thursday, June 2, 2016 after a short battle with brain cancer. Born April 14, 1957, she lived in New Rochelle for her entire life. She worked as a preschool teacher at Westchester Ethical Culture Nursery School for nearly 20 years. Valentina was Troop 1873's Girl Scout Leader. A graduate of New Rochelle High School and Buffalo State University, Valentina was an avid reader, rapid finisher of crossword puzzles, and lover of turtles.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Lillian Podell of New Rochelle, N. Y. died of natural causes in the hospital on June 1, 2016.

Born in Philadelphia,Pa., on April 8, 1916, Lillian was a dental hygienist who practiced in Philadelphia, Pa., Larchmont, NY , and Greenwich, Connecticut.

She often told stories of cleaning the teeth of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Lillian had a passion for ballet,music, theatre, modern dance, and Judaism. She was married to Howard Podell for 47 years and enjoyed traveling the world with him.

Vincent F. Bonelli Ph.D. Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Vincent F. Bonelli, Ph.D., a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on May 31, 2016. 

Vincent was born in New Rochelle to the late Joseph and Carmella (Passarelli) Bonelli. He was a professor for many years at City University in New York City. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Casa Calabria Society and the Antonio Meucci lodge.

He is survived by his wife, the former Maria Loschiavo; his children Joseph (Diane) and Anthony (Maryanne) Bonelli and his 2 adoring grandchildren Gianna and Vincent.
