Setting the Record Straight on My Remarks to New Rochelle Board of Education on August 23, 2016

In a recent public statement intended to discount and dismiss remarks I made to the New Rochelle Board of Education, Schools Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne made numerous claims and omitted key facts in the matter of Scott Empara. I will get into the details below but for now let me say I have a wealth of evidence that proves that the narrative he (and Rachel Relkin two weeks earlier) presented to the public was inaccurate. I have made numerous requests that he and Board President Rachel Relkin correct the record in this regard.

Women’s Soccer Opens Season with 9-0 Blanking of Suffolk Community College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's soccer team started the 2016 season following a pair of national Semi-Final appearances in the prior two seasons.  They started this year's campaign on a strong note, with a 9-0 shutout of Suffolk Community College in Selden, New York on Thursday.  Maia Williams scored twice in the win.

Bucknell Defeats Iona In Non-Conference Finale

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In its final non-conference game, the Iona College women’s soccer program fell to Bucknell, 8-0.  The Bison fired 18 shots, scoring four goals in each half.  Junior Tiffany Martinez and freshman Kayla Wentworth combined to make four saves in net for the Maroon & Gold.

The leading performers were freshman Gabby Bair and junior Kendall Ham, each of whom had two goals for Bucknell.  Freshman Lilly Courts chipped in with one score and one assist.  By the end of the game, six different Bison players got the better of the Maroon & Gold defense.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College women’s soccer team fell to neighborhood rival Fordham Wednesday evening, 2-0.  A quick score in the opening moments by the undefeated Rams put the Maroon & Gold in an early hole they could not climb out of.

The Rams scored promptly on a penalty kick in the seventh minute.  Senior defender Nicole Bates stepped up to the dot and slid a low shot past junior Tiffany Martinez for the first score of the game, and her first of the season.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's water polo program dropped three contests at the Princeton Invitational. The Gaels (3-4) fell to No. 10 UC San Diego, George Washington, and No. 20 Santa Clara.

The Skinny:

Game 1:

On Friday, the Maroon and Gold squared off against No. 10 UC San Diego, dropping the contest 21-4.

UC San Diego took off to a 10-1 lead when the first horn sounded and could not keep pace with the high-powered Tritans throughout the contest.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Behind a pair of goals and an assist from freshmen Jovanni Garcia (Garden Grove, CA) the College of New Rochelle opened up Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a dominating 4-1 victory over Albany Pharmacy.  The Blue Angels now sit at 3-0 on the season while the Panthers fall to to 1-2 on the young season.

Freshmen Cesar Rodriguez (Santa Ana, CA) notched his first collegiate goal and sophomore Nicorey Warren (Brooklyn, NY) scored his 4th of the season to round out the scoring for CNR.
