NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Three cheers for the New Rochelle Special Olympics Team! The players wrapped up a successful soccer season, and this month began competing in floor hockey. The team's home floor hockey games will be played on Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 at Isaac E. Young Middle School, and on April 5 at New Rochelle High School. Mark your calendars and come out to support this awesome team!

New Rochelle Board of Education Appoints new Principal of Henry Barnard Early Childhood Center

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City School District of New Rochelle has appointed Dr. Nicolas Cracco as the new principal of the Henry Barnard Early Childhood Center. The Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Cracco at its meeting last night.

Dr. Cracco was the assistant principal of the Early Childhood Discovery and Design Magnet School, P.S. 185, in New York. He previously taught mathematics at Knowledge and Power Preparatory Academy in the Bronx.

The funding will be used to enhance FSW’s work in its three largest clinics in Port Chester, Mt. Vernon, and Yonkers.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Under the guidance of Peter Parente, president of The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association of New Rochelle, NY, the association has received permission from the City Council to install a Vietnam War Memorial in front of City Hall to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the war, and to honor all those who served from New Rochelle.

The Memorial is being donated to the City by the UVMPA and paid for through the generous donations of residents, businesses and veterans.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Matthew Gunther, 34, of 26 Cliff Street, New Rochelle, New York, was sentenced by Judge Anne Minihan on January 31, 2017 to one and a half to four and a half years in state prison on Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and multiple sentences of one to three years in state prison to run concurrent after being found guilty at a jury trial of one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, class “D” Felonies, fifteen counts of Forgery in the Second Degree, class “D” Felonies
