NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- William T. Stone, a resident of New Rochelle, NY passed away on September 15th. He was born on January 17, 1921 in Checotah(Jenks), Oklahoma to Oram Reid and Christine Martin. 

He was a graduate of New Rochelle H.S. and was a legendary athlete, inducted into the New Rochelle Hall of Fame (football, basketball and track).

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Joseph S. Ciacci, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on September 15, 2016. He was 87.

Joseph was born on February 16, 1929 in Pesaro, Italy, one of twelve children to the late Lino and Eurosia (Cenci) Ciacci.

He is survived by his wife the former Nanette Di Maggio whom he married in 1960; his son Dr. Joseph Ciacci; his grandsons Andrew, Joseph and Jacob; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He was predeceased by his son Richard Ciacci.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police and Westchester County Police are engaged in a search for a missing non-verbal, autistic child, last seen at 22:00 hours getting on a Mile Square School Bus at or near Frank Davis Court at Heritage Homes in downtown New Rochelle. The bus was going to the Doyle Center (or Dole Center) in Mount Vernon. Child has not returned home. Child described as 5'2" 125 lbs, male/black, medium build. DOB 1/13/01 (age 16). Last seen wearing gray t-shirt black pants black sneakers brown coat. Search began at about 1 am.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle High School's Science Olympiad team competed in the Lower Hudson Valley Regional Science Olympiad Competition Saturday. The students received high scores in several categories.

Special congratulations to Seniors Jacob Gruza and Jeffrey Tallan who placed first in the Hovercraft event.

The New Rochelle Varsity Cheerleaders are Section 1 Champions!

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Varsity Cheerleaders are Section 1 Champions! The team will be competing for the State Championship in Syracuse on March 4th, where last year they were runners up . The team also won the Westchester County Championships and were crowned Grand Champions on January 27th. These athletes have a lot to be proud of!
