NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle softball team continued its hot start to the 2017 season with a pair of wins over John Jay College Monday night at Flowers Park.  With the 13-4 and 10-0 wins, the Blue Angels have now won four in a row and seven of their last eight games.  The four straight wins is a new program record, as the team now stands at 8-2.

Monroe Baseball Defeats Nassau CC, 11-1

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Despite having a depleted roster due to finals, the Monroe College Baseball team came home from Garden City with an 11-1 eight-inning victory over Nassau on Wednesday. The team is now 12-13 on the season.

Monroe took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the second. Troy Davern reached on a single. He moved to second on an error and scored on an RBI double from Shadrach Meulens. Meulens later scored on an error.

Softball Splits a Pair at Siena

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College softball team was pinned up against the Siena College Saints on Friday afternoon.  The two teams near atop the Metro Atlantic Athletic Standings split a pair of contests, each coming out of the weekend with a 6-2 league record.

GAME ONE: Siena 5, Iona 3 (9 Innings)

Despite a late two-run homerun by senior centerfielder Kelsey Long, the Maroon & Gold dropped game one 5-3 in a back-and-forth nine inning affair.  Siena was able to walk-off courtesy of a two-run round-tripper from freshman Lauren Sabihon.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced today that he reached settlements with 104 auto dealerships that sold vehicles to New Yorkers without disclosing that the vehicles were under recall for dangerous unrepaired safety issues such as unintended acceleration, airbag problems, vehicle fires, steering and brake loss, and more. The settlement requires the auto dealers to provide consumers with advance notice of any existing and unrepaired recall, among other measures.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police Commissioner Patrick J. Carroll has been inducted into the St. Francis Preparatory School Hall of Fame during their annual spring reunion ceremony on April 8, 2017. This honor is awarded to those alumni who have achieved significant lifetime achievements and who’ve continued to set a model for others to follow. Commissioner Carroll represented the class of 1960.
