Iona Men’s Basketball and St. John’s to Face at 2017 MSG Holiday Festival

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's basketball team returns to the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden this upcoming season at the 2017 MSG Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 17. The Gaels are set to take on New York Metropolitan area challenger St. John's in one end of a doubleheader at the event.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- This July 4th, cap off your holiday evening with a viewing of the grand fireworks display at the New Rochelle waterfront. Produced and sponsored by the famous Grucci family, the City of New Rochelle’s annual “Spark the Sound” extravaganza will start at 9:30 p.m., rain or shine. Optimum viewing locations include Hudson and Five Islands Parks and waterfront restaurants.

The City of New Rochelle Chooses Developer for 45 Harrison Street

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- At its June 20 meeting, the New Rochelle City Council unanimously selected MacQuesten Development, LLC as the winning bidder to reimagine a City-owned property at 45 Harrison Street, the current site of New Rochelle Fire Station #1.

MacQuesten’s proposed $110 million, 27-story mixed-use building, which was recommended by the City’s Department of Development, includes  282 residential units, approximately 9,500 square feet of retail, a four-story parking garage and an option for nearly 50,000 square feet of office space.

PELHAM, NY -- On Thursday, July 13th at 7:30 p.m. The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will host an advance screening of Amnesia (1 hr., 36 mins.), followed by a discussion with the critically-acclaimed director, Barbet Schroeder led by TPH’s critic-in-residence Marshall Fine. Amnesia was selected to screen in the Special Screenings section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and opens in New York on Friday, July 21st.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In celebration of New Rochelle's founding by French Huguenots 329 years ago, the New Rochelle Sister City Committee will present a Bastille Day ceremony on Friday, July 14 at 10 AM. The event will take place in front of City Hall. This French national holiday, recalling the storming of the king’s political prison, recognizes the French Revolution as a result of the lessons learned in the American Revolution and ideas in our Declaration of Independence.

Six Iona Preparatory Students Compete in National Speech & Debate Tournament in Alabama

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Following up on their success at the state level, six students from Iona Preparatory competed in the National Speech & Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Ala., all last week, with three nearly breaking into octo-finals in their primary categories and two advancing in supplemental categories. Additionally, Class of 1998 alumnus C. Ryan Joyce of Phoenix Country Day School was named the 2017 Middle School Coach of the Year.

Cluess Adds Assistant Coach Tim Maloney to Men's Basketball Staff

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Iona College men's basketball head coach Tim Cluess added Tim Maloney as an assistant coach to the Gaels' for this upcoming 2017-18 season. Maloney joins the Maroon & Gold after spending eight seasons with Scott Drew's staff at Baylor University as director of basketball operations.
