Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, WPF’s mission continues to be to encourage investment in Westchester County’s 18,000 acres of parks, trails and open spaces.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Three world-class airport operators -- FerroStar Westchester Airport Partners, HPN Aviation Group, LLC, and MIC Airports, LLC, -- have responded to Westchester County’s request for proposals (RFP) to manage and operate its airport as part of a public-private partnership made possible through a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) program that allows profits from airport operations to be used for public purposes such as parks, public safety, roads and social services.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The eighth annual Patriot Tour, a 100-day, 14,000-mile journey during which motorcycle riders carry one American flag city-to-city through all 48 continental states to raise money for wounded veterans and their families, launched Saturday, May 27 from Harley-Davidson of Madison, in Madison, Wisconsin.

More than 150,000 riders nationwide, including many from throughout New York, are expected to participate in the 2017 Patriot Tour that departs Mt. Ephraim, NJ, heading to New Rochelle, NY on August 18. The tour passes through New Rochelle as follows:

Astorino Vetoes Sanctuary County Law

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino today vetoed a sanctuary county law passed last week by the Board of Legislators, saying in his veto message that the Act “endangers public safety, violates federal law, infringes upon long-established principles of law enforcement cooperation and jeopardizes millions in federal public safety grants.”

The Immigration Protection Act was approved 10-5 by the Board of Legislators last week and the county executive is within the 10-day deadline to veto the Act.
