NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Carlos Rodriguez picked up his first career hat trick with three goals in the first half to help lift the No. 2 Monroe College men's soccer team to a 10-1 victory in its home opener at City Park against Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) Saturday evening.
Rodriguez led an eight-goal first half for the Mustangs with his three scores. Gabriel Machado and Lucas Nishioka each totaled four points on the evening with a goal and two assists apiece.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Sophomore quarterback Sean Kelly fueled the Mustang offense to a huge day, as the Monroe College football team rolled to a 56-20 victory on the road on Saturday against Hocking College at Boston Field to open the 2017 campaign with a win.
Kelly registered four total touchdowns in Saturday's victory. He passed for two of them after going 18-of-29 for 167 yards in the air. Kelly rushed for two more scores, and tallied 39 yards on nine carries.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Gabriel Machado improved his season total to five goals in just two games after his hat trick on Sunday led the No. 2 Monroe College men's soccer team rolled to a 7-1 victory over Louisburg College in the finale of the CCBC Essex Tournament. Monroe comes out of opening weekend with a 2-0 record, while Louisburg heads home at 0-2.

The Blue Angels captured the win in their first match of the weekend against Sarah Lawrence College holding the control from the beginning. The three set sweep finished with scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-18. The team finished with 32 kills. The leaders were sophomores Imani DeBose with 7 kills and Cristal Michelle Liciaga had 6 kills. Senior Fabiola Angeli Padilla Rios had perfect night attacking finishing with 4 kills off four attempts.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- With the opening weekend of competition upcoming this weekend for the Iona College cross country program, it was announced on Monday by the USTFCCCA that the men's team was ranked second in Preseason Regional Rankings while the women's group was slotted 10th in the Northeast Region.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A day after being ranked second in the region, the Iona College men's cross country team has been slotted eighth in the NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Preseason National Coaches' Poll according to the USTFCCCA.
Northern Arizona received seven first place votes to earn the top spot in the preseason poll, ahead of Stanford and three first place votes. Syracuse and Colorado were honored with the final two first place votes, ranking third and fifth with Arkansas checking in at four.
