Jefferson Drop-Off Improves Safety, Traffic Flow

January 07, 2018 - 16:11

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Buses bringing students to Jefferson Elementary School no longer stop cars along Weyman Avenue, thanks to a drop-off lane that improves safety and allows a smooth traffic flow.

Part of the $106.5 million bond construction, the new drop-off area is a perfect example of a modest change making a big difference. Five buses can fit in the lane, shifting them off of the busy by-way.

A new drop-off lane at Jefferson Elementary School allows buses to pull off of busy Weyman Avenue.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- With frigid weather gripping the region, it's a good time to be reminded that there is an easy and effective way to report issues regarding City School District of New Rochelle building conditions or operations.

Icy blasts bring their own set of challenges to maintaining school buildings, and the freezing temperatures make it even more important to ensure that classrooms, auditoriums and other areas remain safe, comfortable spaces that are optimum for learning.

A web-based system allows residents to report issues in District buildings.
