Anonymous Alerts Reporting App Launched

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Students, parents and others can now report bullying and other troubles that may impact students in the City School District of New Rochelle from their cell phones and tablets with an app that is available from Anonymous Alerts®.

The app is an extension of the agreement the School District reached recently with Anonymous Alerts®, a patented, anonymous two-way communications® system that empowers students to anonymously report bullying and harassment, weapons, drug/alcohol usage and other safety concerns directly to school officials.

PELHAM, NY -- On Wednesday, March 28th at 7:30 p.m. The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will host a special screening of the Oscar-nominated film, The Post, followed by a discussion with George Freeman, the former Assistant General Counsel for The New York Times and current Executive Director of the Media Law Resource Center. Prior to the event Picture House members will be invited to an exclusive, complimentary cocktail reception at a private Pelham home within walking distance to the theater.

New Rochelle School Officials Working with Gun Control Advocates to Stage Walkout Next Week

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle school officials have announced they will temporarily suspend the "controlled access posture" at New Rochelle High School to accommodate student gun control advocates who have organized a protest event on the campus next week.

Students, working with school officials, have planned a 17-minute walkout demonstration to demand stronger gun control laws at 10 a.m. on March 14th.

New Rochelle Task Force on School Violence Sets Inaugural Meeting for Saturday

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Task Force for Reduction of Violence in the Lives of Children and Youth, a committee created by the City School District of New Rochelle, will hold its first meeting on Saturday, March 10th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting had been scheduled for Wednesday March 7th but was postponed due to the weather.
