What happens if Noam Bramson resigns as Mayor of New Rochelle?

November 17, 2017 - 14:29

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- There is widespread speculation that Noam Bramson may become the next Deputy Westchester County Executive in a George Latimer Administration.

Bramson has dismissed the rumors.

"The rumor-mill is demonstrating its usual accuracy," Bramson told Talk of the Sound. "I have had no conversations about and have devoted no thought to this possibility."

While discounting the idea, Bramson's response is not Shermanesque either. And the rumors have only grown louder.

IEYMS Castle Ambassadors Building Closer School Community

November 17, 2017 - 14:23

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- It was more than just ice cream with all the toppings.

The real aim of Isaac E. Young Middle School's recent Castle Ambassadors Ice Cream Social was to welcome new students to the middle school and reinforce the group's commitment to helping all students feel comfortable.

"Sometimes it can be hard making friends in a new school," said seventh-grader Leah Shefferman, one of about 15 Castle Ambassadors. "In the ice cream social, they could learn more about the school and maybe even meet some new people there."

Looks like Rangers have found a ‘D’ partner for Kevin Shattenkirk

November 17, 2017 - 13:25

NEW YORK, NY -- It’s a little like a yin-and-yin, without the yang — but it’s working.

Since Rangers coach Alain Vigneault put Brady Skjei and Kevin Shattenkirk, two of his best offensive defensemen, together five games ago, they arguably have become his most reliable pair. The two terrific skaters, who both like to get up in the rush and be creative in the opponent’s zone, have found a way not to overdo it.
