Registration Opens for NRPD Community Youth Fishing Trips

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Police Department (P.A.C.T.) and the New Rochelle Police Foundation announce the 2018 Community Youth Fishing Program for boys and girls ages 10-15. There are four Wednesday trips scheduled for this summer: July 11, 25, August 1 & 8. Participants must arrive at the Fort Slocum Road Dock by 9 AM to board the Shamrock Charterboat, the boat returns approximately at 2 PM. Lunch, soft drinks and equipment are provided.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Over 50 students, youth bureau staff and police officers gathered at Patsy’s Pizzeria for the 1st annual “Dinner with our Finest” event on Monday, June 4. The event was hosted by the Mentors in Blue program, a collaboration by the New Rochelle Youth Bureau, The New Rochelle Police Department and local youth.

“This dinner was another step in building on the relationship and interaction between police and our youth,” said Youth Bureau Executive Director Kelly Johnson.

New Rochelle Fire Station No. 2 Closes for Repairs

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- As part of the City of New Rochelle’s ongoing Capital Improvement Program, an overhaul of Fire Station 2 has begun. The station, located on Webster Avenue, closed last Friday and the two companies- Ladder 12 and Engine 22- have relocated to nearby firehouses: Ladder 12 to Drake Avenue and Engine 22 to Harrison Street. Response time is expected to remain similar and ambulance service will not be affected.

City of New Rochelle Receives $2.5M NYS Grant for Pedestrian Safety

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle has received $2.54 million from New York State for pedestrian signal improvements, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s office announced today. The grant is part of a $62 million investment in the groundbreaking Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, a multi-agency initiative to utilize engineering, education and enforcement campaigns to enhance pedestrian safety across Upstate New York and on Long Island.
