Elementary schools

Half day. Dismissal at 11:40 a.m.

Albert Leonard Middle School

8th grade: 8:30 a.m.-9:45 a.m.

7th grade: 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

6th grade: 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

 

Isaac E. Young Middle School

6th grade: 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

7th grade: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Community Input Invited in NRHS Principal Search

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The search for the next New Rochelle High School principal is under way, and community members have been submitting their thoughts and suggestions about the position in a survey posted earlier this week on the City School District of New Rochelle website, www.nred.org.

The selection process began with 12 candidates chosen from a pool of applicants by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Magda Parvey and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Dr. Joseph Williams.

Summer Class Teaches Life Skills with Academics

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Twenty-four incoming New Rochelle High School ninth graders benefited from a summer program run by the Guidance Center of Westchester and New Rochelle High School Administration.

NRHS House Principal Shomari Akil oversaw the program with a focus on leadership and life skills. In addition to math, English and science, students learned public speaking, effective communication and the importance of treating others with respect. They also learned skills such as how to manage finances.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City School District of New Rochelle welcomed 45 new teachers and support staff during orientation this week.

"Your cultural competence, embracing of diversity and enlightened pursuit of equity will make a significant difference for our students," Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne told the new hires in the Linda E. Kelly Theatre in New Rochelle High School.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City School District of New Rochelle seeks volunteers from the community to join its districtwide School Safety Team. The team is charged with the ongoing review and revision of the District Safety/Emergency Response Plan formulated pursuant to New York State Education Law as part of the state's Project SAVE (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education.)
