Apex Investigation Stonewall: District Claims Investigators Have Never Billed for Services

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --There was a major development today in the stonewalling by school officials with regard to the Apex investigation. After weeks of claiming they had no such record the District finally produced a copy of the contract under which T&M Protection was hired to investigate allegations of grade-fixing and a phony credit recovery scheme at New Rochelle High School.

New Rochelle Man Guilty of Conspiring to Torch a Bronx Deli

32, of New Rochelle, New York, and Redhwan Saleh, 37, of Brooklyn, New York, were each convicted of conspiracy to commit arson, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Saleh was also convicted of arson, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Bostick was found not guilty of arson.

They were convicted by a jury in connection with their participation in an arson in the Bronx, New York.  The verdict followed a four-day trial before the Honorable William H. Pauley III.

FED JUDGE: Fraud Charges Sustained Against New Rochelle High School Administrator at Center of Apex Grade-Fixing Scandal

NEW YORK, NY -- A Federal Judge has effectively ended a 2016 lawsuit filed by New Rochelle House Principal Shadia Alvarez in which she sought to cast herself as a victim after a New York City Department of Education Office of Special Investigation sustained charges against her related to theft of services and failure to follow required financial protocols.

Alvarez is currently under investigation in New Rochelle for her role in a grade-fixing scandal involving Apex Credit Recovery.

FLIP-FLOP: New Rochelle Board of Education Pulls RFP to Replace Law Firm

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Without prior explanation, public announcement or notice to prospective bidders, the New Rochelle Board of Education abruptly pulled a Request for Proposal for Legal Services.

The RFP was distributed on the District web site, BidNet and in the Journal News in October with a deadline of November 13th at 11:00 a.m.

The original RFP required that interested bidders indicate their intention to bid by October 31st. Talk of the Sound has requested the list of prospective bidders.

New Rochelle School Teacher Alleges Sexual Assault in Her Classroom - No Charges Filed

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A New Rochelle public school teacher has alleged she was sexually assaulted in her classroom. The incident occurred during the school day. Police were not called to the school and no charges were filed.

Multiple sources have confirmed that a female teacher made an immediate complaint to her building principal and her union representative after a male behavioral consultant, hired by the special education department to work in her classroom, rubbed his hand up and down her spine and unsnapped the clasp of her bra.
