New Rochelle Armory Murder Suspect, an Illegal Alien from Mexico, Deported Twice, Came Back a Third Time

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Talk of the Sound has confirmed that Jose F. Olmos, also known as Jose Olmos-Torres, is a Mexican national who entered the country illegally on at least three occasions and was deported twice. This according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency of the Department of Homeland Security.

“Jose Olmos-Torres, an illegally present citizen and national of Mexico, was previously removed from the U.S. as an expedited removal on two separate occasions in 2009,” said Rachael Yong Yow, Public Affairs Officer for ICE New York.

New Rochelle Man Hospitalized in West End Shooting

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A man suffered bullet wounds to both legs in an early morning shooting on Crescent Avenue in New Rochelle on Wednesday. The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m.

Detectives and forensic specialists spent hours working the scene.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

There are no suspects at this time. New Rochelle Police asks that anyone with information please contact the NRPD’s General Investigation’s Unit at  (914) 654-2270.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police Records obtained by Talk of the Sound under a Freedom of Information request provide new details on the case and the man charged with the murder of Nurten Seljuk.

Jose F. Olmos, 28, a homeless Hispanic male, was arraigned Monday in New Rochelle City Court on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (with intent), a Class A Violent Felony.

New Rochelle Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI by New York State Police

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — New York State Police in Troop K removed 16 impaired drivers from the roadway over the weekend of July 27-29.

Among them was a man from New Rochelle.

On July 29, 2018, State Police from SP Hawthorne arrested Christopher E. Frustaglio, age 33, of New Rochelle, NY, for Aggravated DWI.  He was traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the city of Yonkers, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation.  Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Anthony Donofrio, 69, of New Rochelle, NY, for Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, a Class C Felony.  Also arrested was Danny A. Aguayo, age 35, of Stamford, CT.
