NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- AAA Northeast last week launched its 73rd annual “School’s Open - Drive Carefully” program at the New Rochelle Police Department.  The program alerts drivers to be extra careful behind the wheel as children end their summer vacation and return to school.  Sergeant Myron Joseph and Officer Carlos Valencia joined local school students to help AAA kickoff the program.

2018 Women of Excellence Honorees Announced

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Chamber of announced the honorees and the date of its 16th Annual Women of Excellence awards later this year. The honorees are:

·         Vera Koppel of Ruach is to receive the Muriel Zaukas Lifetime Achievement Award.

·         Liz Aiello of SiriusXM Radio will receive Business and Professional Award.

·         Millie Ilich of Hudson Park Children’s Green House and Amy’s Greenhouse will receive the Community Outreach Award.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Youth Bureau hosted their annual Youth Employment Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Sixty-eight youth residents ages 14-21 were recognized and presented with certificates for their summer employment. The Youth Bureau provided summer jobs in three programs: Network Youth Leadership Program, TANF Summer Employment Program, and Potential Candidates Summer Intern Program.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Diego Torres, a brand new ninth-grader, couldn't wait to get to New Rochelle High School today.

"I couldn't sleep because I was so excited," said Torres, who hopes to wrestle for New Rochelle's varsity team this winter. "I hope for varsity. If not, then JV. I also want to do Spanish Literature Club, but I'm not sure."
