WCA Hosts Pitch Contest In Which Entrepreneurs Compete For A $10,000 Cash Grant, Tues. Nov. 18

WESTCHESTER, NY -- The Westchester County Association will host its second pitch competition this year on Tuesday, November 18. Entrepreneurs take to the microphone to pitch their business ideas in five minutes or less to a panel of distinguished judges. Early-stage companies ready to take their ideas to the next level were invited to participate in the contest, designed to accelerate startup creation in Westchester County. Spectators are invited to attend and receive a glimpse of what’s on the horizon for Westchester’s startup scene. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m.

· Nov. 20th, 7pm at New Ro City hall Chambers (515 North Ave.)

· Nov. 25th, 7pm at Somer High School auditorium (120 Primrose St.)

· Dec. 3rd, 7pm at BOL chambers (148 Martine Ave.)

New Rochelle YMCA Launches "Be A Lifesaver" Capital Campaign For Pool Repair

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle YMCA has launched "Be A Lifesaver", a $1.3 million fund-raising campaign to help pay for critical pool repairs at the Y.  

Damage to the Y's pool ceiling area was recently discovered as the Y was executing its plan to remove the pool's drop ceiling, which is no longer permitted in pool design. During the process, engineers discovered that steel beams supporting the Y's roof structure had corroded, some of which will require replacement.
