Los Angeles Times Battled Los Angeles School District to Force Disclosure of Teacher Ratings

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Los Angeles School District has had one of the more high-profile battles over the disclosure over teachers ratings.

After the ratings were created but kept from the public, the Los Angeles Times filed a lawsuit to require the Los Angeles School District to disclose the results.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In response to a complaint filed with the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights ("OCR"), Director of Special and Alternative Education Yvette Goorevitch wrote a letter, dated June 18, 2012, to Erin Gimbel, Compliance Team Leader of the OCR handling the investigation into the complaint.

Over the next month or so, we intend to make a major change to the web. While 99% will be “under the hood” and thus not visible to readers, the 1% that is visible is how folks will see and use the web site so it is not a small thing to pick the right “look and feel” for Talk of the Sound.

We use software called Drupal to present the site to readers, we are currently using version 6.
