The tree has been shining each night since the annual holiday lighting ceremony on December 3rd. The event sponsored by the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Improvement District and the City of New Rochelle Parks Department celebrated the Holiday season for all faiths. Santa Claus stopped by the Hugh Doyle Senior Center this afternoon, spreading Christmas cheer and candy canes to the good little seniors enjoying the Center's Christmas Party. Santa even took some time to get on the dance floor and shake a leg with a bevy of willing partners.

No injuries were reported. Ironically, parking in the City lot at Avalon 2, just a few feet away from the parking space in question, is free during the holidays.
