NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Volunteer New York! and the City of New Rochelle Parks and Recreation department will team up on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. for day of service to beautify Huguenot Park.

This Earth Day weekend cleanup project is open to all New Rochelle community members- ages 6+ with a parent- interested in rolling up their sleeves for their community. Up to 150 volunteers will be able register through volunteernewyork.org/newrochelle for one of two available afternoon volunteer shifts. Huguenot Park starts at the corner of North Avenue & Eastchester Road and borders New Rochelle High School.

Volunteers will help with picking up trash from the park grounds and lake edge, re-chipping the walking path, beautifying the causeway, planting, and repainting the bridge behind the Children’s Library. All volunteers must register to participate. Group and team registration is also available.

“Huguenot Park is one of our most popular parks, serving all ages, interests and abilities,” said Parks & Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann. “We invite the community to come out to help us bring it to its best for the busy months ahead!!”
