PELHAM, NY -- Come celebrate local filmmakers at The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) on Tuesday, October 18th, when the YoFiFest (Yonkers Film Festival) showcases a selection of two films from its line-up. The evening kicks-off with a reception in the lobby of The Picture House’s renovated, historically preserved theater followed by the screening of the short film The Great Accountant and the feature length film, Dramatic Escape.
The Great Accountant (14 mins.), directed by Michael Quigley documents the marriage of two unsuccessful musicians as it descends swiftly through purgatory and into hell.
Dramatic Escape (90 mins.) directed by Nick Quested, transports viewers into the lives of a group of maximum security prisoners attempting to mount a stage production of A Few Good Men as a part of the Rehabilitation through the Arts (RTA) program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, NY. The documentary gives viewers an intimate look at the dramatic process as it traces the steps from auditions through curtain call. Along the way, the men reveal their personal stories, their everyday struggles, and contemplate whether redemption is possible.
The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion with members of both filmmaking teams and with former inmates who appear in Dramatic Escape.
