PELHAM, NY -- From Friday, September 2nd through Tuesday, September 6th The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will present the second annual Westchester International Children’s Film Festival (WICFF) once again bringing the best new films from around the world for ages 3 through 18 to Westchester, the Bronx, and Connecticut.
The festival will kick-off on Friday, September 2nd with an opening celebration and screening of the award-winning April and the Extraordinary World (France, PG, 1 hr. 45 mins.). Additional highlights of the festival include screenings of the features Phantom Boy (France, PG 1 hr. 24 mins.), and the Academy-Award nominated Boy and the World (Brazil, PG 1 hr. 20 mins.) as well as a variety of international short film programs.
In addition, from Friday through Monday the festival will include a Celebration of John Hughes’ films with screenings of The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 16 Candles, and Pretty in Pink. Each screening will take place at 9:00 p.m.
“We are thrilled to cap off the summer by hosting the second Westchester International Children’s Film Festival at The Picture House,” said Clayton Bushong, Director of Programming, Marketing, and Operations at The Picture House. “It’s a chance to travel the world through film without leaving Westchester.”
The Westchester International Children’s Film Festival will conclude with a ‘Taste of Education’ day-long program at the theater, featuring one-hour workshops of some of the Picture House’s most popular education classes taught by TPH faculty. These classes will be free and open to the public but are subject to availability and are offered on a first come, first served basis. In addition, food trucks from around Westchester will be on-site throughout the duration of the festival.

Tickets to the Westchester International Children’s Film Festival are $12/general admission, $6/members, $10/students and seniors for individual screenings. An All-Access pass is available for $75/$65 for members; a Family Pass (good for a family of four) to all the screenings will also be available for $125/ $115 for members.
