Angelina Sarachelli Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Angelina Sarachelli, 90, passed away on August 18, 2016 at her home in New Rochelle, NY, where she was born in and lived her whole life, proud of the West New Rochelle neighborhood she lived in. She was born on September 29, 1925 to Mr. & Mrs. Louis & Mary Rotina. She graduated from Albert Leonard High School and worked as a banking bookkeeper in NYC until she married Paul Sarachelli in 1946 after he was released from the army after serving combat duty in World War II. They were married at St. Joseph Church in New Rochelle and were happily married for 42 years.

She enjoyed reading, going to church, loved animals and most of all spending time at gatherings with family and friends. A devoted homemaker and mother she was a loyal Christian soldier who unselfishly dedicated herself tending to her family’s needs, especially to those that were terminally ill.

Angelina is survived by her son Paul Sarachelli (Maria) and daughter Jean Sarachelli-DiIuro (Tom) of Yonkers, NY. and her grandchildren Stephanie Sarachelli, Paul Sarachelli III, and Michael DiIuro who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Theresa Guadagno and many nieces and nephews that she so dearly loved. Angelina was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Rotina, her husband Paul Sarachelli and her brother Alex Rotina.

Visitation will be held at Cancro Funeral Home, 104 Fourth Street, New Rochelle, NY Sunday, August 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass St Joseph’s Church 10:00 AM Monday, August 22. Entombment at Ferncliff Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
