PELHAM, NY — SAVE THE DATE! Pelham Art Center will be a vibrant part of ArtsFest 2016, a two-town art weekend adventure on September 24 and September 25 in New Rochelle and Pelham.  Both Saturday and Sunday 12-4PM will be packed with art-related activities at Pelham Art Center (PAC), so plan to spend the afternoon.  Kicking off the festival on Saturday, from 12PM-2PM, artists Lauren and Dylan Cotton, the creators of Pelham Art Center’s current public art exhibition Mirari, will host a glass blowing demonstration and hands-on free art painting and sculpture workshop for all ages. Beginning at 1:30PM, the acclaimed jazz musicians Joe Fiedler’s Plus Two will liven up our outdoor courtyard with sassy brass sounds.

On Sunday, our new next-door neighbor, BelleVie Yoga Studio, will host free yoga in Pelham Art Center’s courtyard from 12PM-1PM with acclaimed national yoga instructor Luke Ketterhagen.  Visitors can start ArtsFest Sunday with a clear mind and relaxed body with a beginner yoga class.  From 1:30PM – 3:30PM, visitors of all ages can let their creativity run wild by taking a sample Pelham Art Center class for free. Teaching artist Imani Parkinson will explore mixed media projects geared to our younger artists, while exhibiting artist Anki King will host an acrylic painting class, including a drop-in still-life set up.

Open both Saturday and Sunday, visitors can check out our gallery space, featuring our current exhibition Constructing New Photographies. This group exhibition features three contemporary photographers, Magali Duzant, Jim Ramer, and Carol Warner, who explore new photographic frontiers by blurring the lines between art, technology, and culture. Curated by Stacy Miller.  Featured boldly in the Pelham Art Center courtyard is a public art exhibition, Mirari, by the artist team Lauren and Dylan Cotton.
