WHITE PLAINS, NY -- County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that the Westchester County Youth Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2015 Rosemarie Siragusa Memorial Youth Service Award, which recognizes adults age 21 and over who have made major contributions towards the youth in their communities through volunteerism. The deadline for submissions is October 5.

“The Rosemarie Siragusa Award recognizes dedicated residents who give back to our youth in the true spirit of community service,” Astorino said. “I look forward to all the deserving nominations.”

Nomination forms can be obtained online at westchestergov.com/youth. For more information, please contact Veronica Vargas at [email protected] or (914) 995-3918.

For over 25 years, Siragusa volunteered as an advocate for youth, particularly in the area of education, and was a founder and chairman of the Westchester County Youth Board. She was involved in the local, county and state levels of the PTA, and served as president of the Yonkers Council of PTAs. Rosemarie was also a trustee and officer of the Yonkers Board of Education.

“The Youth Bureau is pleased to invite you to nominate someone who you believe embodies the value system and service priorities of caring, knowledge and concern for youth that Rosemarie Siragusa demonstrated throughout her life,” said Iris Pagan, executive director of the Westchester County Youth Bureau.

Nominations for the 2015 Rosemarie Siragusa Memorial Youth Service Award must be returned to the Westchester County Youth Bureau no later than October 5, 2015. Submissions may be sent either via email to Veronica Vargas at [email protected] or to the following address:
