Bob Marrone Leaving WVOX

BobmarroneGood Morning Westchester Radio Host Bob Marrone will be signing off of WVOX 1460 AM for the last time in the coming days, according to knowledgeable sources. The exact date has not been set but soon.

Marrone has been providing news, information, entertainment and local political talk as the GMW host since 2002. Marrone began in radio in 2002 working for Time Warner Cable before moving to talk radio in 2004.

In addition to hosting GMW every weekday from 6:00am to 9:00am, Marrone has served as News Director at WVOX.

Prior to his radio career, Marrone worked on Wall Street specializing in corporate communications and training for organizations such as Merrill Lynch, Thomson Financial and the Securities Industry Association. According to the WVOX web site, Marrone is on the faculties of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and the New York Institute of Finance. He majored in Political Science at St. John’s University.

Marrone has won numerous awards including “Best Community Program” and “Best Spot News in New York State” from the New York State Broadcasters Association, 2008. March 5th, 2008 was declared Bob Marrone Day in honor of his persistent coverage of local and state affairs.

The next few days will be listeners last chance to trade barbs with one of Westchester’s most well-known media personalities on WVOX.

    This is sad news and a real loss for the listeners of WVOX. You will be missed Bob but I guess you have your reasons for leaving. All the best and Thank You for your time spent with all of us.
