Christopher J. Maher Obituary

Christopher J. Maher, 57, of New Rochelle, New York, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, November 28, 2014. He was born on January 21, 1957 and attended Blessed Sacrament School, Fordham Preparatory School and Ohio University. Chris worked for many years in the moving business and in the boating industry and had a deep love for the sea. He helped with a number of local organizations including The Salvation Army, and at Ground Zero during post 9/11 efforts.

He is survived by his loving mother, M. Elizabeth Gries Maher of New Rochelle, five siblings, Theresa (Maxim) Koslow of Manhattan, Andrew (Susan) of Eastchester, John of New Rochelle, Catherine (Edward) Smith of Pelham, Eileen (Vincent) Illuzzi of Newport, VT; eight cousins, nine nieces and nephews, one grandnephew, and countless friends and loved ones, including longtime companion Michelle Miller. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday December 2nd at 10:30 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of choice.
