NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City College of New York women's basketball team rolled past the College of New Rochelle 74-51 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at City College. CNR falls to 1-2

In the second quarter, both teams battled back-and-forth for control of the ball. The Beavers were able to stay ahead and hold the advantage while forcing the Blue Angels to commit turnovers. CCNY went into the locker room with a 41-23 advantage.  For the game, CCNY forced 10 more turnovers then the Blue Angels did (22-12), which led to 26 points.

The Blue Angels came into the third quarter looking for a way to stop the Beavers. CNR started the second half going on a 6-2 run, but that wasn't enough to catch up to CCNY. City outscored College of New Rochelle 19-16 in the third quarter.  Both teams played evenly in the final frame to set the final.

The senior Jersey City, NJ duo of JaNasha King and Jasmine Brandon recorded over half of the teams points on the night, as they scored 17 and 12, respectively.  Sophomore Hannah Cambel (Houston, TX) rounded out double-digit scorers with 10.  CCNY's Tiara Brown led the Beavers with 17.  She was one of four players in double figures.

CNR is back in action tomorrow with a road game against the College of Mount Saint Vincent.  Game time for the non-conference game in Riverdale is set for 7:00pm.
