CNR Swimming Hosts Tri-Meet

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Womens Swimming team hosted Notre Dame College of Maryland and John Jay College in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.  After all events were completed, CNR fell to both the Gators and Bloodhounds, and now sit at 0-6 on the season.

The relays for the Blue Angels were successful on the day as CNR won the 200 Medley relay with a time of 3:13.03.  The team of sophomore Angela Avalos (Albany, NY), Serena Eljamal, freshmen Hailey Hall (Rouses Point, NY), and Allison Gurney later took 2nd in the 200 Free Relay. They finished 2nd behind John Jay with a time of 2:30.72.

Individually, CNR did not win any events on the day, while Notre Dame won five events, while John Jay won four events.  For the Blue Angels, senior Claudia Benitez (White Plains, NY) finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:28.81.  She finished 3rd in the 200 IM with a season best 2:58.97.

CNR will host Queensborough Community College on Tuesday at 7:30pm.
