The Lunchtime Art Club of Columbus Elementary School recently concluded a four-week exercise that included crafting artwork and writing about famous artists, according to information posted to the City School District of New Rochelle’s facebook page.

Art teacher Leah Bernabei and second-grade teacher Antoinette Koehler taught students about several artists while having lunch with the students during club meetings twice a week. Students created art projects depicting featured artists Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Georges Seurat, Joan Miro and Vincent Van Gogh, the post said. The students also selected their favorite artist and wrote opinion pieces about the artists. The student’s artwork and writings were then featured in an art exhibit.
