CVS North Avenue

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

The new CVS located at 220 North Avenue is a great idea and will help bring more people to a depressed area.
Many concerns were voiced at a planning board meeting before the CVS was being built.
1-when will they deliver product?
Answer- between 7am and 9am in front of building on North ave.(new loading zone for CVS.)
As of today thursday i have had 3 trucks unload between 2am-4am for the last four days. On the side of the building in the libary lot.(Zoneing Board-loading zone on North ave in front of 220 north between 7-9am only!
2-garbage pick-up- WHERE? Cvs behind building in libray lot.
Answer-Dumpster 30 yard in alley way between carpet place and Cvs.
Ny whole point of this story is when does the zoning board follow up on there so called promises.
I have to call the police every night to get CVS to go by the rules of the zoning board policy’s.
New Rochelle wake up or these small developers are going to put us down.
UPDATE– The CVS opened on sunday there is still no loading zone on North Avenue from 7-9am,
There are no camera’s around the property only one at the rear door. There were to be placed all around the building.
The windows were to be replaced with the old style windows that was never done.
There garbage dumpster is still a 30 yard container located in the alley way between the carpet store and the cvs.
So how does this cvs get a co when they have not met the zoning requirements of the zoning board????
This city went after the owner of Retro fitness at 238 north ave for having a sign with to much color in it,but they won’t require CVS to go by the rules.
enough is enough

  1. Not even open
It’s not even open yet, that 30 yard dumpster is for the construction of the store an many of the boxes generated by every thing being loaded in to the store for it’s opening and there’s going to many trucks that come to fill it up and then once that over thing should comedown.

Give it some time after it’s open fully and you still have these problem then I could understand.

    1. not even open
Sorry sir, they can have as many trucks they want during the day but not at 3;00am unloading and making all kinds of noise.I don’t know where you live but i am sure if you had trucks idiling at your front window all night you would not be to happy.

      1. I know
I know but it’s not going to be long, once the store opens it will comedown. In the mean time if the trucks keep you up over the bar noise then just pop in a rerun of the city circus show!, i like the one that includes “Noam Meltdown 2: Hysterical New Rochelle Mayor Invokes Joseph McCarthy in Local City Council Discussion”

  2. I was at Planning Board hearing
When I attended the Planning Board hearing, I said I had nothing against the store even though I did not know how it would be successful.
They made specific promises as to when they would deliver and these do not sound like the times they agreed to. Check with the Building or Planning Department.

huge delivery trucks still there at 7am and probably earlier. no regard for residents and blocked at least 3 or 4 street meters. don’t think they used new rochelle business to put up signs which was something they hit gym next door with. Size apparently does matter.
