NEW ROCHELLE, NY –Florence R. Carroll, 76, a resident of LaGrangeville since 1995 and formerly of Mahopac and New Rochelle, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Born in New Rochelle on November 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Annamarie Pinto Thomson. Florence was employed as a hairdresser for Lady Pelham for 30 years until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
On May 26, 1957 at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle, Florence married John J. Carroll who predeceased her on January 29, 2011. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Lisa Carroll of Poughkeepsie, Steven and Carolyn Carroll of Hyde Park, Anne Marie and Daniel O’Callahan of Wappingers Falls, Susan and Frank Bondi of LaGrangeville, and Rosemary Palumbo of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Christina Carroll, Brian Carroll, Steven Jr. and Ashley Carroll, Daniel and Marisa Carroll, Emily and Joseph Bradford, Daniel and Heather O’Callahan, James O’Callahan, Kaitlin O’Callahan, Colleen O’Callahan, John Eaton, Frank Bondi Jr., Julie Palumbo, and Autumn Palumbo; her great-grandchildren, Daniel Patrick O’Callahan III, Lilly O’Callahan, Caroline O’Callahan and Joseph Bradford; her siblings, Barbara Odendahl and John Thomson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her great-grandson, Bentley Charles Bradford.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 10am at the funeral home followed by interment in Rose Hills Memorial Park.
