SCARSDALE, NY -- Scarsdale10583 is reporting that Kristen Walsh, 36, of White Plains, NY was arrested by Scarsdale Police on September 25, 2016 and charged with “driving while on cell phone, aggravated DWI with a child in the car, DWI per se, with a prior conviction less than 10 years and DWI with a prior conviction less that ten 10 years.” Walsh was released to her attorney on $500 cash bail.

Walsh, a former teacher at Albert Leonard Middle School, was observed by police driving erratically near the intersection of Post Road and Heathcote Road in Scarsdale. A police officer observed Walsh driving “very slowly” while holding a mobile phone to her ear. When police pulled Walsh over she struck the curb, according to the police.

Police detected a “smell of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech, slow motor skills and evasive eye contact”. Walsh stated she "had one vodka mixed drink and a Xanax about an hour ago at a friend's house."

Walsh's nine-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat of the car.

Walsh failed field sobriety tests, asking to stop "because she was feeling tired." A breathalyzer test measured Walsh's blood alcohol level at .14.
